OuT with the GirLs......

It's been quite the week let me tell you. If you've been on Facebook then you already know where my head has been at the last day or so......

I found a lump in my breast on Thursday night which gave me a terrible fright. I really think I believed that only happened to other people. After a sleepless night and a few tears I took myself off to the first female doctor I could get an appointment with at my regular surgery......a doctor who turned out to be an aquaintance from the days when our kids went to preschool together.

Oh my Lord......what are the odds???

What a lovely chance to get my gear off catch up after all these years......me with my top off and my hands behind my head......her scrutinising my boosies from every angle like the good doctor she is......reminiscing about the kids......good times ;O)

Next time I think we'll just do coffee......

Have you got your girls out for an old friend lately?

I think it's about time you did......

LOVE Tania XX

PS. The doctor reassured me that it was nothing to worry about but as a precaution I'm going to have a mammogram and an ultrasound......and a glass of wine ;O)

  1. Gosh what a busy week you have had! Glad all is ok, it can be very stressful! I had a very similar thing happen... apparently and strangely the painful type lumps are the ones you want have! Still scary and means you have to be extra careful...but you have to be anyways. Glad all is well!!! Here's to a more relaxing week ahead for you! Rach xx

  3. I would rather my old friends, particularly the boys, remembered my girls as they were.

Glad your lump should be ok.

    1. I hear you......I would have preferred she she them a decade ago when we first met. She also got to meet my muffin top. The waiting room nearly got to see even more when I forgot to do up the top button on my jeans and they nearly fell down ;O)

  4. PS I was once on the TV show perfect match, 1985 as an 18 year old. I was the single girl and won a date out with a student doctor, who I might add is now my kids' doctor. Not because we kept in touch, but after all those years we ended up living in the same suburb and there he was. There is no way he is ever going near my boobs though. I didn't let him near them then and I don't intend to now either.

  9. Oh phew!! How frightening, Tania. So glad it's all fine.

Yep, got my stuff out there, so to speak, with a parent of a child I used to teach. Love pap smears with aquaintances. Almost as good as breast examinations. Ugh!!!

  10. That must have been a strange experience meeting an old acquaintance like that! I discovered a lump 2 years ago which turned out to be cyst it is worth having the mammogram and ultrasound done, hope it goes OK.

  12. Hi Tania, just thought I'd share my story & hope it helps.. I'm in mid 30's and 3 times since my mid 20's I have found lumps which Ive had to go and have checked out, each time an ultrasound and either fine needle biopsy &/or mamogram. Mine have always been hormonal tissue, which have then somehow gone away. Apparently if a lump is tender/painful it is usually cyst/hormonal tissue & the other type of lump we never want to know about is not usually tender. Its a stressful time, Im sure everything will be okay. Apparently it is good to have a mamogram as in years to come if you ever have another one they can compare the 2 to track any changes in your breasts. Geez I sound like a doctor but after 3 rounds I know a little! Bec :)

  14. Hey love, just checking up on about three weeks worth of computer perusing. Just saw this, so sorry you had to go through this. We should catch up soon. I myself have been through a similar expierence lately. Got very sick about three weeks ago with what I thought was a cold and a bladder infection. Ended up in hospital during the night, diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection and a mystery illness. Back to the doctor a couple of days later for results from myriad of tests carried out on me, only to be subjected to full body check over, including pap smear, gotta love that. Still nothing. Went home with directions to stay on antibiotics and if not better in a week or so, take forms to specialists for more intrusive tests ie: internal scans etc. Luckily started feeling a little better, started eating again and am now almost back to normal (relative term). Maybe I was just going out in sympathy for you telepathically. Sounds good to me anyway. C U SOON!! Smiley.
