For a big job you need the right tool......and I'm not just talking about my hubby. We may have been a little optimistic thinking we could excavate a pool size hole with this......

Just kidding of course ;O)

We brought in the big guns......do you think anyone will get upset if I change my mind now? I'm feeling slightly nervous because we had to redesign on the spot due to unforeseen problems. We also created a whole new backyard with the dirt that couldn't be removed due to the truck not being able to get access. You know, all those completely obvious things that nobody thinks of......tehe!
I'm quite excited that we'll end up with a level yard......something we've never had here or at our last place.
Let's hope the rain stays away......because there won't be any pool action for a while yet unfortunately.
You have to get the excavators in while you can at this time of the year......;O)

I'm not panicking yet......but stay tuned because I'm sure I will be any minute now......I may even cry ;O)

  1. Ohhh a pool! We could do with one here. The kiddies paddling pool just does'nt cut it anymore. It gets so hot here out in the country - no sea breeze...........

    1. I can totally imagine. It's always slightly cooler on the Coast ;O)
We are very lucky I know but we've been saving for ages. It's an above ground (semi excavated in) with decking a part of the way around.

when my builder hubby and I are doing stuff in the garden and around the house we always say "tool for every job...and your it!" it's a running joke we have.
    breathe and stay calm!

  11. We had the same problem with the dirt - although we only had to scrape off a bit to make our ground level. We completely underestimated the amount that was scraped off...lucky we have a friend with a bobcat! We changed our plans a couple of times too, and at the time it seemed a BIG deal, now I can't even remember what the issues were. Just think how great it will be when it's all done :)

  12. Brave. One day I'll sit you down and tell you how I ruined my parents pool as it was being built. I was 10 and it is now part of family folk law, but at the time it felt more like a nervous break down.
